Samsung 3D TV FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Samsung 3D TVs

1. Can my Samsung 3D TV also play regular tv?
Absolutely.  In fact, you can watch any regular programming or dvds on your 3D TV and the picture will be crystal clear. Plus, you have the added advantage of choosing a setting that will let you watch 2D programs in 3D. It’s not as spectacular as a true 3D show, but it’s certainly better than plain old 2D :-)

2. Do I always have to wear the 3D eyeglasses when I’m watching something on my 3D TV?
Nope. If you’re only going to watch 2D media and you don’t want the 3D effect, then you can leave the glasses off. In fact, you can watch 3D shows without your glasses too, but you won’t get the 3D experience, and that kinda defeats the purpose, doesn’t it?

3. Will I have a problem if I have to wear prescription glasses for long distance vision?
Not at all. Samsung’s 3D glasses are designed to be able to fit your prescription glasses underneath them. In fact, customer reviews say that the combination of the 2 glasses is quite comfortable.

4. What’s the difference between virtual 3D and native 3D?
Virtual 3D is media that was originally filmed in 2D, but is converted to 3D format by a high-definition TV. Native 3D is media that was actually filmed using 3D cameras, which gives you a much better 3D effect.

5. How should I clean my 3D glasses?
The best way to get your 3D glasses clean is by wiping them one side of each lens at a time. 3D glasses have two screens in each lens, so putting pressure on both sides at the same time squeezes the two lenses together, causing them to come in contact and distort 3D viewing. Use a microfiber cloth to clean one side of one lens first, then the other side, then move onto the second lens.

Avoid using any chemicals containing alcohol, solvents, or surfactant, or chemicals such as wax, benzene, thinner, or lubricant. These may result in discoloration or cracks on the lens surface. Also, you should never spray cleaning fluid directly onto the glasses—spray onto the cloth instead.
